On September 13, 2021, H. E. András László Király, Ambassador of Hungary presented his credentials to Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, President of the Republic of Maldives. After the ceremony, the President thanked Hungary for its support in international organizations and expressed their appreciation for the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship offered. He said that they were still counting on Hungarian support for the successful implementation of the Maldivian presidency of the UN General Assembly. He also indicated that they expect closer co-operation with the Hungarian government in the areas of technology transfer, economic diversification and tourism investment.
