Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Mr. István Szabó presented his credentials to Her Excellency Draupadi Murmu, President of India, on 24 March 2023.

In the audience discussion following the ceremony, both parties emphasized the importance of Hungarian-Indian relations, referring to the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

The Ambassador conveyed the greetings of the Hungarian President Katalin Novák.

The President expressed her gratitude for Hungary's support and the help provided to the Indian students in repatriation from Ukraine. In his reply, the Ambassador highlighted the achievements of educational cooperation so far, as more than 500 young Indians are currently studying in Hungary.

Further strengthening of cooperation in the field of defence was also discussed, which the Ambassador confirmed on the Hungarian side, highlighting the review and utilization of opportunities for military industrial cooperation.
