With the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, delegation of the Hungarian University of Public Services (UPS) visited New Delhi on 17-22 May 2022. The Hungarian delegation was led by Prof. Boglárka Koller, International Vice-rector of the UPS, joined by Prof. Tibor Bíró, Dean of the Faculty of Water Sciences.
The delegation first met with the leaders of the Center for Ganga River Basin Management and Studies (cGanga), which was established within the ranks of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur. As a first step of their cooperation, the Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions was authenticated online in December 2021.
At the meeting, UPS presented the activities and international relations of the university, especially the research and development programs carried out by the Faculty of Water Sciences. This was followed by detailed discussions on what could be the next possible milestones in their research and innovation collaboration, where the most important area is water management. At the end of the meeting, the documents of the memorandum of understanding were ceremoniously exchanged.
At the next meeting of the delegation, they agreed with the Dean and Professor of the Faculty of Law at the University of Marwadi that administration, international studies and water diplomacy could be areas where the UPS and the University of Marwadi could deepen their cooperation. The primary goal of the cooperation was to create the possibility of obtaining a double degree, but the negotiating partner also showed interest in the implementation of teacher and student mobility.
The UPS delegation then held the next meeting with the Vice Chancellor and his staff of Integral University Lucknow. The parties have identified a number of points of cooperation in the areas of water management, water diplomacy, research and education, in particular in the field of teacher and student exchanges.
