The Embassy of Hungary and the Defence Attaché Office celebrated the Hungarian Defence Forces Day on Friday, 19th of May 2023 at the Ambassador’s residence. Foreign Defence Attaches and representatives of the Indian Armed Forces attended the reception. Lt. Col. Laszlo Kovari opened the event followed by a speech of H.E. István Szabó, Ambassador of Hungary who greeted the chief guest of the evening, Rear Admiral Jyotin Raina, NM, VSM. An exhibition of photographs about the everyday life and work of the Hungarian Defence Forces were on display for the guests along with paintings from the Hungarian military history. A unique fusion Dance recital captivated the audience when a young girl from NGO Global Family performed Bharatnatyam under a Hungarian military song. JNU students of Hungarian language presented the Hungarian National Song along with it’s translation in English and Hindi. The evening concluded with an outstanding Hungarian dinner.
